Outback Thunda

Outback Thunda is a 5 tonne car jumping car crushing legend; Outback Thunda has appeared with distinction in every State in Australia and the USA.

Outback Thunda started his life as Bronco Magic 6 years ago and was at the time the Official "Monster" for the Brisbane Bronco's NRL Team, after a year as Bronco Magic the owners decided to move away from the Footy Theme and gave the 3D truck a facelift and new image and due to extensive overseas appearances decided to give Outback Thunda a distinctive Aussie name hence this yellow and red Monster is now known throughout the World as Australia's "Monster of Destruction"

Outback Thunda is powered by a modified 510 big block chev producing over 1500 horse pwer and is supercharged and fuel injected.

The entire truck weighs around 5 tonne which results in some serious impact when this Monster hits the crush cars. Outback Thunda doesn't just devour cars he loves destroying caravans, buses, vans and boats. He even destroyed a row of washing machines for a Radio Station Media Launch.

Outback Thunda is 3.87 metres high and 3.8 metres wide.

Outback Thunda has a conventional steering wheel for the front wheels and a small toggle switch on the left hand side of the driver for the rear wheels making it a four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer vehicle. If you watch you will regularly see the back wheels turn right or left to help this big monster negotiate turning maneuvers.

Outback Thunda is valued at well over $200,000 with the Motor costing over $100,000 alone.

The great wheels are 66 inch in old terms, that's about 2 metres high and unlike a normal car if Outback Thunda blows a tyre on a jaggered piece of a crush car, he's up for $6000 for a new tyre.

The supercharged motor is fully overhauled after every six shows, basic maintenance like oil changes etc, happen after every show. One of Australia's leading V8 Sprintcar engine re-builders Tony Taylor from Brisbane is responsible for keeping the engine running in this great truck.

Monster truck racing is a regular Motor-sporting event in the USA with over 1000 Monster trucks registered with the Monster Truck Sporting Governing Bodies USHRA and MTRA which also controls Drag Racing, Off Road Racing and many Stadium Motor X events.

Outback Thunda's driver is Sunshine Coast based Clive Featherby who has been driving monsters for the past five years.

Clive says seeing the kids smiling faces when Thunda leads out the Grand Parade is something really special.

You can rest assured whenever Thunda enters the arena

"YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED TO THE MAX"
